SUMMARY:

Under the direction of a Family Resources Manager, the Family Resources Supervisor manages the direct services provided to parents and providers through Illinois Action for Children’s Family Resources programs including the IDHS Child Care Assistance Program. All work to be completed with minimum supervision and in accordance with organizational standards.

This incumbent will be expected to promote and adhere to the workplace core capabilities of: accountability, customer focus, continuous quality improvement (CQI), communication, competent people and clear priorities. All work to be completed in accordance with organizational standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following. The organization reserves the right to add to, delete, change, or modify the essential duties and responsibilities at any time.

  1. Supervise assigned team to ensure that high quality and professional services are provided to parents and providers that work with Illinois Action for Children. Ensure confidentiality of parent and provider information received and managed by Illinois Action for Children.
  2. Monitor and implement policies and procedures of the IDHS Child Care Assistance Program, Parent Referral line and other IAFC programs
  3. Implement quality control measurements on assigned staff to ensure effective, efficient and professional services are provided to parents and providers within set timelines and procedures.
  4. Prepares written reports on assigned groups caseload utilization and assigned teams activities; report regularly to assigned manager. Knowledgeable of all assigned team members functions; could serve as back up if needed to assist team.
  5. Responsible for assigned teams knowledge of IDHS Child Care Assistance program, parent referral program, Study and other Illinois Action for Children Family Resources programs.
  6. Execute our workplace core capabilities of: accountability, customer focus, continuous quality improvement (CQI), communication, competent people and clear priorities.
  7. Other Functions: The Organization may assign other functions to the job at its discretion.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following. The company reserves the right to add to, delete, change or modify the essential duties and responsibilities at any time.

Responsible for supervising one segment of a team. Formal responsibility for planning, assigning, directing and coordinating the work of these functions. Performs employee evaluations and makes hiring decisions. Supervises position of Family Resources Support Specialist, Family Resources Specialist, Family Resources Coordinator.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak English, specifically, to communicate both in person and over the telephone. The employee must regularly operate a word-processing system and therefore must be able to read, produce and transmit data on such a system. Additionally, the position requires occasional lifting, bending, and walking.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree and 1-2 years related experience required. Experience supervising staff is strongly preferred.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Must demonstrate the ability to multi-task, verbal and written communications skills, excellent customer service and attention to detail.
  • Supervisory experience strongly preferred.
