Health and Safety Resource Supervisor

SUMMARY:           

Under the direction of the Health and Safety Resource Manager, the Health and Safety Resource Supervisor is responsible for scheduling and  monitoring on-site visits for Providers who receive payment through IDHS Child Care Assistance Program. The HSR Supervisor directly supervises and evaluates all assigned staff.  All work to be completed with minimum supervision and in accordance with organizational standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.       Maintain familiarity with IDHS policies and procedures as it relates to license exempt standards for the Child Care Assistance Program and Health and Safety practices.
2.       Supervise assigned team to ensure that high quality and professional services are provided to the Health and Safety Resource providers and programs served.  Ensure confidentiality of provider and/or family information received and managed by Illinois Action for Children.
3.       Provide direct supervision of all aspects of the license exempt provider monitoring process including: supporting Health and Safety Resource Coaches with scheduling provider on-site- visit reviews. Conducting  provider visits and/or HSR Coaches observations as necessary, ensuring all reports and program data is submitted, troubleshoot/resolve complaints/issues with HSR coaches and LE providers.
4.       Work with the Health and Safety Resource Manager to develop and implement monitoring strategies to fulfill contract deliverables.
5.       Implement quality control measurements on assigned staff and provider service area to ensure effective, efficient and professional services are provided to HSR coaches within set timelines and procedures.
6.       Prepares written reports on assigned provider service area and assigned team activities; report regularly to Health and Safety Manager.
7.       Maintain knowledgeable of all assigned team members functions; could serve as back up if needed to assist team. 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree and two years related experience required. Experience supervising staff is strongly preferred. 

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Supervisory experience strongly preferred
  • Experience working with low to moderate-income families.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to multi-task
  • Excellent customer service and attention to detail
  • Familiar with other resources available to providers via the agency and outside sources.
  • Ability to travel locally and statewide as needed
  • Valid Drivers License, insurance and access to reliable personal transportation required
